4. At mile 19 at Ibex Cabin
5. Visited @elkriverbooks in Livingston where I was delighted to see my “Wilderness Hush” broadside hanging on the wall. I had brought copies to the Elk River Writers Workshop when I attended, and Marc said he would like a copy for the shop. It was sweet to see it in person.
6. Cutest little camp chair
7. Most outrageous crew: these ladies wearing beefcake aprons and mustaches
8. I think this is mile 43, Halfmoon Campground

10. Most of the Saudi players collapsed when time ran out because Cape Verde had so many shots on goal I think the Saudis were shocked to escape with a 0-0 draw. Cape Verde fans were a little frustrated until a couple minutes after the match ended word got out that they had advanced to the round of 32, the smallest country to ever make it that far. Then everyone was jubilant.
11. Mounted police again (seemed so Texan).
Go Blue Sharks! Next they face Argentina 😬 Friday, July 3rd at 4 mountain in Miami.
Houston day 1: 1. We’re celebrating Cedar’s 16th Houston day 1:
1. We’re celebrating Cedar’s 16th birthday with tickets to the cheapest World Cup game I could find: Cape Verde vs. Saudi Arabia, Friday. Cedar earned his driver’s license after an arduous 70 minute driving test including 45 minutes waiting for a train to cross the state-approved test route, during which he was not allowed to remove his hands from the steering wheel. Usually the test is 20-30 minutes long.
2. A Cut Above exhibit of Colorado woodworkers on the way to concourse A at DIA.
3. We flew with Louis the axolotl.
