fire dream

I dreamt ashes in our attic
soot on the windowsills
unnoticed for weeks

we’re all wearing ashes
on our foreheads these days
visible or not

In these photos: @bobdylancenter , breakfast at KJLA’s, Council Oak Tree where Tulsa was founded when the Lochapoka rekindled their ceremonial fire there from coals they carried throughout the Trail of Tears, handwritten Dylan lyrics, Dylan explaining how he admired how Jimi Hendrix covered him, exhibit on how complex voter registration requirements were used to disenfranchise and intimidate Black voters in Mississippi, Kira with Coco and Luca, LEGO vending machine at the Tulsa Airport, cousins lucked out with seats in the same row, Asher in his toxic waste Halloween costume.

Canvassing for #kamalaharris in Erie, Pennsylvania day 6. It did still feel like home. Fingers crossed we helped gain a vote or two.

Canvassing for #kamalaharris in Erie, Pennsylvania day 5. Today we ended up being assigned a neighborhood near my grade school and high school so I knocked on the door of one of my high school English teachers and talked with her son, and also talked with two other households whose nieces I went to high school with, and a guy knew my dad and grandfather. We also took a break to cruise the bay on the Victorian Princess. And @logyexpress and @sarahjeanbean73 and I celebrated Alex Bradley’s birthday a little early.

Canvassing for #kamalaharris in my hometown of Erie, PA day 4. Alex Bradley and I covered 6.5 miles knocking on doors, we saw the comet, at @laverybrewingco we ran into State Senate candidate @wertzforerie whose lit we’ve been dropping for days and we found him to be super nice, then I ran into @sarahjeanbean73 who I’ve been making plans to see Sunday, plus we made a quick stop at @theerieartmuseum which was having a free day and @glassgrowersgallery . Also found several places Where the Sidewalk Ends and candy made for dogs at the Kwik Fill.
