I’m on Madeline Island in Lake Superior to cheer

I’m on Madeline Island in Lake Superior to cheer my sister on in her marathon tomorrow. In these photos: Joni’s Beach, Prince at the Minneapolis airport, Richard I. Bong Memorial Bridge, Will and Lake Superior, wonderful to see signs in Ojibwe, ferry from Bayfield to the island, this couple got engaged during our 25 minute ferry crossing!, Molly on our dock, Will at the playground at Joni’s Beach, view of Lake Superior from my bed. 😍

Quick trip to Northfield, Minnesota to visit Carle

Quick trip to Northfield, Minnesota to visit Carleton with Owen. In these photos: Carleton’s Arboretum and the Cannon River at sunset, Minnesota lives up to its reputation for lakes, the Twin Cities from the air, @tanzenwaldbrewingcompany means “dancing forest”, Japanese garden at Carleton, we got to watch a baseball game, @northfieldyarn is next to @contentbooks …. easy to lose oneself…, entrance to the Arboretum, spring is just arriving, Cedar as a hockey player.

We didn’t think there would be much to see because of the clouds, but some gaps magically appeared and we had some decent views of the eclipse and enjoyed very dark skies. We walked over to the American side of the falls and watched from there.
